I have been switching my habits the past week and a bit. I have been getting up at or near 6:45AM each day. Part of this is to work on getting balance in my life cycle and the other is that I love the morning and find that I can get a lot of work done quickly.

The problem is that I also stay up late at night and being a software developer work strange hours. I’m slowly trying to carve out a work day and have a separation when work stops and life starts. Right now it is a blur as I work all day and just take breaks but the reality is that I’m at my desk for the better part of the day. For example today I was at my desk at 7:20AM and have been here except for lunch, afternoon snowshoe and dinner. It is not all billable time but I do not think that my brain understands that. It just thinks that it is working all the time (which it is in a way).
It seems that I’m not the only one trying this. I just happened to find David Seah’s blog as he also also has a DV plan with MT and had a post about setting it up. I was just checking to see if there were more comments in the thread and noticed that he was also blogging about the morning switch he is doing.
Anyways I’m going to try and make this a habit and will post off and on how it is working out for me. Well time to call it a day as I’m also trying to crash at a predictable time (at 10:00PM or before).

Hey Jaimie, I was just catching up on your Blog…from day one. Are you feeling less citified now that you’ve been there for a year?
I was also wondering if you’re still doing the Zen thing with spiders that you and Paula did in the city? You remember…carefully gathering them up and releasing them into the clear smog of TO??? How is the catch and release going at Basecamp?
Much more a country boy now I think. Still love the city just in smaller chunks. We still do the C&R up here but I have been a little more loose as there are a lot more things around
