Over the holidays I got a pair of GV Snow Aerolite 9×30 Snowshoes.

I have not had much time to play with them as we have not had any snow till the past few days. I took them out today for a short trial run. I like the weight of them they are very light. The bindings are like a snowboard so really grab your foot and hold you secure. They have a lot of grip at the bottom so are great on ice. Last year I used some traditional bear paw style shoes. These had amazing flotation but at the cost of weight and maneuverability. The GV’s are a nice mix in the middle. While they do not float as well they still make it easy to break a trail. The advantage is that they are nice and light and secure because of this running (well jogging) is easier and they are maneuverable on a tight trail.

Our trails are tight due to the storm damage so it was a good test to see how they would preform on varied conditions. In the little testing so far I think that they are a great shoe.
