So we have been back at Basecamp for the past week and I have been thinking about drinking water. Where does yours come from? When we are in the city it is from well the city. Toronto has some of the best drinking water around (or that is what I have heard). To get it that way it goes thru many processes to get it clean.
Up at Basecamp our water comes from 245 feet below and 15 feet east of the house. We are on well and I have to say that our water is great. No fancy process just a deep hole in the ground a pump and a pressure tank. As long as I have power for the pump we have drinking water. It is clean, super cold and tastes good.
With the price of bottled water going thru the roof and the fact that water will get scarce soon I think that soon people will be drilling for water (like they did for oil). I have half a mind to start looking for wells up north and start bottling it or at least get it all setup so that the operation could be sold. This might sound dumb but just like oil, water is a resource that people will start needing and luckily in Canada we have lots of it.
