Yesterday I got my eyes checked (it had been about 2 years since last check). I was having some trouble reading at night in that I had to pull the magazine away to focus at times. Also regular eye exams just make sense.
I head to the doctor and he does the typical tests. It seems that my fears are correct and I *could* use reading glasses if I wanted. Ugh I never thought that this day would come (well at least not till I was older). Turns out that 40 in the magic number for me. The glasses that I *could* use are “75″’s and I can pick them up at drug stores etc. I do not really need them but they will make it easy to read. Using them will not help or hinder the condition (getting older).
After the typical test he did another one to search the back of the eye (if that makes sense). He put some stuff in that made the pupils dilate fully, took about 10 minutes. He did the test and all was fine. I ask if I can drive home and he says sure no problem but I might be sensitive to light and things will get better over time.
Cool I think and go to pay for the exam. It is not until I go to use my debit card that I realize that I cannot read. Like I mean cannot make out anything, like nothing only blurry buttons. I was able to pay from memory where the buttons are but I could have paid 2 grand for the exam
.
I think well this should get better soon and head into the truck for the drive back downtown. Nope I drove home but could not read anything, like the speed I was going, traffic signs, nothing! I must say it was very weird.
Here is a shot taken later in the day when I could see a bit:

It finally got better late in the night around 11:30PM.
I guess I’m officially not a young punk anymore.
Maybe they will make me look smarter!

Just wait until you hit the mid-life crisis and go to the doctor with something important to you only to hear that you’re too old and too fat like my father did. It’s nice to know that there’s so much in life to look forward to.
I just can’t wait to mature into old(er) age.
Oh…J won’t get the too fat thing…just old!!!
The fat comment is saved for me!
